Course type
QGIS Masterclass (Online)
Description
Participants in this 8‑session Masterclass learn to confidently delineate streams and (sub)catchments from DEMs, working step by step through the tools and workflows that turn raw terrain data into meaningful hydrological insights. The course builds practical skills in identifying flow paths, defining boundaries, and analysing key catchment properties such as hypsometric curves, concentration time, longitudinal profiles, bifurcation ratios, drainage density and unit hydrographs. Participants also learn to create clear catchment maps, visualise flow directions in 2D and 3D, and present catchment dimensions effectively — combining technical rigour with cartographic clarity to communicate hydrological patterns with confidence
